5月14日と15日に再び地盤工学会の調査団として、能登半島地震の調査に行きました（珠洲、輪島）。今回は主として地震動と津波による地盤・堤防・護岸の被害調査を行いました。がれきの撤去が進み、道路は通りやすくなったものの、倒壊した家屋はほぼそのまま、断水も続き、2月とそんな状況は変わりませんでした。
調査中に地元住民の方から「うちの半壊した家屋はいつ撤去してくれるんや。役所に行ったら全壊優先と言われた。この家が全壊するまで待てということか」と怒った感じで声をかけられましたが、その後は実体験をもとに震災時の状況、高齢者の津波避難の難しさ、徐々に水位が上がる津波の怖さを親切に教えてくれ、自宅や近隣住宅内部の被害状況も見せてくださいました。
2月からの変化とすれば、仮設住宅の建設、営業再開したコンビニの増加、珠洲市の公園でゲートボールをしている住民が見られた等でしょうか。少しずつ生活は戻っている雰囲気はありましたが、まだまだ道半ばです。とても時間がかかりそうです。
On May 14 and 15, I visited Noto Peninsula again as a member of earthquake investigation sub-team of the JGS (Japanese Geotechnical Society). This time, we mainly surveyed damage to river dike and seawalls caused by seismic motion and tsunami. Although the debris has been removed and roads have become easier to pass, the collapsed houses are still almost remained and the water supply is still cut off, and the situation is not so much different from that in February.
The changes I found since February are (i) Construction of temporary houses, (ii)Increase in reopened supermarket (convenience stores), and (iii) Residents playing gateball in a park in Suzu City and so on. I felt some atmosphere that local life is gradually returning to normal, but there is still a long way to go.
