Rawiwan san, Doctoral student, had the final exam today and successfully defended her thesis! Her thesis title is “Liquefaction and re-liquefaction characteristics of granular material: Experimental and DEM studies”. She conducted experiments using plastic rods and DEM simulations to analyze the microscopic structure change during the liquefaction state of granular materials and related microscopic parameters to the liquefaction resistance during next cyclic shear.
