Prof. Junichi Koseki and Dr. Yudai Aoyagi (PWRI), who was a Ph.D. candidate in our laboratory, are awarded “the 2020 OTTO CLOGAU AWARD” from the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering for our paper titled “Reconnaissance report on geotechnical and geological aspects of the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, Japan” (first author, Dr. Gabriele Chiaro, was also a Ph.D. candidate in Insitute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo). This award is offered annually to the authors presenting the best paper published in the Bulletin of the NZSEE during the last three years.
