We are enjoying a Softball tournament in the Department of Civil Engineering called “Okamura cup”, which is named after Emeritus Professor Okamura, who used to be an ace pitcher in the baseball team of our university, still holding winning records. In total six teams are competing, and we form “geotechnical engineering” team with Kuwano lab and Kiyota lab members.
The first match was against “international project / construction management”. We scored 5 points in the beginning of the game and thought that we won, but the opponent did not give up; in the end we drew at 7-7. The second match, which was against “hydrosphere”, was very tight one. Both of the teams made several chances but every time the defense saved the day. Again we drew at 0-0. We have to thank Wu san for coming to Japan and making a super catch.
The results were not bad as we can now proceed to the semi-final match against transport lab.
