先週、大阪で第8回国際地震地盤工学会議(8ICEGE)が開催され、研究室から6人で参加しました。この国際会議は1995年に石原研而 東大名誉教授が東京で開催されたIS-Tokyo以来、4年に1回世界各国で開催され（前回はローマ）、今回29年ぶりに日本に開催地が戻ってきました。日本の地盤工学会(会長は古関先生)が主催しましたが、大きなトラブルなく、約600人が参加した会議を無事に終えることができました！石原研而先生がこの国際会議に参加され、世界各国の多くの地震工学者から挨拶・写真撮影を求められていました。いつまでもお元気で！
Last week, the 8th International Conference on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering (8ICEGE) was held in Osaka, and six members from our laboratory attended. This international conference has been held once every four years in various countries around the world since 1995, when it was first held in Tokyo by Professor Emeritus Kenji Ishihara, and this time it returned to Japan for the first time in 29 years.
The Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS, chaired by Prof. Koseki) hosted the conference, and we successfully completed the conference, which was attended by approximately 600 people, without any major problems! Prof. Kenji Ishihara attended the conference and was asked to greet and take pictures by many earthquake engineers from all over the world.
