9月にパリで交流したフランス人研究者4名が来日し、2回目の技術交流を行いました。せっかくの機会なので、東大から距離的に近い中央大学（後楽園キャンパス）と早稲田大学（西早稲田キャンパス）の地盤工学分野の教員・ポスドク・学生もお誘いし、3大学を相互訪問し、合同の技術交流会としました。
同じ地盤工学分野でも、各国・各大学によって研究方法や個別の研究テーマは大きく異なります。そのため、その「違い」について深く議論したり、互いの研究環境（主に実験室環境）を見学することで多くのことに気づかされます。このような技術交流が大事であると改めて思いました。

Four French researchers whom we met in Paris in September came to Japan for the second technical exchange. Sinceit was a good opportunity, we invited some professors, post-doc and students in the field of geotechnical engineering from Chuo University (Korakuen Campus) and Waseda University (Nishi-Waseda Campus), which are located very close to UTokyo, to join the mutual visit and technical exchange.
Even in the same geotechnical engineering field, research approaches and individual research topics differ among countries and universities. Therefore, we can learn a lot by discussing the “differences” and visiting the lab. (mainly seeing the experimental apparatus) each other. This reminded me again of the importance of this kind of technical exchange.
